Prestressed hollowcore floors have longitudinal cores of which the primary purpose is to reduce the weight of the floor. The elements are available at different depths to satisfy the various performance needs for span and loading.
Prestressed hollowcore floor units are commonly 1,200mm wide and up to 20m long. Builders use hollowcore floors in buildings with larger spans or loadings, such as office buildings, hospitals, schools, retail developments, hotels, student accommodation, industrial buildings and sports arenas.
